Description

You feel called to interpret in a Spiritual setting. Now what? Do you have the necessary tools (knowledge and skill) to create a sense of Sacred Space for the deaf congregates while adequately and accurately conveying the sense of wonder and majesty contained in this most important event?

How do you prepare effectively while still taking care of your own spiritual needs? Should interpreters charge or donate their time? What do you do when you can’t understand the words of a song? What is the idea of Sacred Space and how is it conveyed through an interpretation? All of this and more will be explored as it relates to creating an atmosphere of worship for deaf congregates.

Whether a novice or an interpreter of many years, this workshop will challenge and enlighten.

Topics we will cover

  • Wisdom in accepting spiritually-based assignments
